Now accepting LMSW supervisees in the state of Texas for virtual clinical supervision!

My Background, Experience & Supervisory Style

I’m an LCSW in the states of both Georgia and Texas and a board-approved supervisor in Texas. I have been practicing clinical social work for the past 8 years.

I am currently working in private practice doing individual therapy and clinical supervision. Prior to opening my own private practice, I worked in a variety of nonprofits with under-resourced populations. Much of my work has been in housing services providing case management for people experiencing homelessness. In addition to homeless services, I have also worked in psychiatric crisis and outpatient therapy services in community mental health settings. The populations I have served include Veterans, people with HIV, people experiencing homelessness, children and youth, and more. I have worked with people ranging from mild symptoms to severe mental illnesses including psychotic disorders, mood disorders, personality disorders, and suicidality.

My current specialization is LGBTQIA+ issues and attachment-based or complex trauma. I am EMDR certified and use EMDR therapy with many of my clients. I also use CBT and elements of IFS and DBT. I come from a harm-reduction background and value this approach when targeting substance use or self-harm behaviors with my clients. My clinical style is warm, affirming, and inquisitive.

I view supervision as a setting in which you can grow, learn, make mistakes and receive guidance. I think processing as well as learning are both important parts of the supervision process which is why I incorporate an educational component into supervision as well as leaving space for informal discussion and case conceptualization.

Together, through a lens of cultural humility, we will navigate ethical dilemmas, deepen your understanding of board rules and regulations, familiarize you with various DSM-5 diagnoses and diagnostic tools, improve your treatment planning and documentation skills, navigate crises and mandated reporting laws, gain an understanding of various clinical interventions, and ultimately improve your self-awareness and develop your clinical style.

Format and Schedule

I conduct supervision virtually. I use a combination of group and individual supervision as I view both as integral to the learning process. My availability is typically limited to regular business hours.

Rates

Group supervision:

$60/hour

*I typically structure supervision as a total of 3 group hours and 1 individual hour per month, totaling $280/month

Ready to get started?

Nothing in supervision matters more than the supervisor/supervisee relationship. I encourage you to be assessing for fit as much as I will during our initial phone conversation. Things to look for are whether my fields of expertise are congruent with your field of practice, if our clinical orientations align, and of course whether you feel safe and comfortable with me and my style.

Let’s chat and get the process started. I respond most quickly to email, so let’s start there and schedule a 15 minute phone consultation. I look forward to meeting you and seeing if we are a good fit!
